Cooling & heating
Cooling and heating with an air conditioner can be achieved through a heat pump system, which is built into many modern air conditioners. Here is how it works:
- Cooling: In cooling mode, the air conditioner extracts heat from the indoor space and conducts it outside. This process is achieved through a refrigerant that absorbs and dissipates heat. The air flow generated by the air conditioner then carries the cooled air into the room.
- Heating: In heating mode, the operation of the heat pump reverses. The system extracts heat from the outside air (even in cold weather, heat is still present) and brings it inside, where it is dispersed as warm air in the room.
This process makes heat pump air conditioners not only efficient in cooling during hot weather, but also effective in heating during colder periods. It thus provides an annual climate control solution, resulting in better energy efficiency and comfort than traditional heating systems such as electric heaters.
