The air is carried through a network of ducts to the rooms you want to cool or heat, and only the grilles are visible. It is the most discreet air conditioning solution for new builds and renovation projects where the system needs to be fully concealed. Aircobrabant only supplies ducted units from Daikin and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, brands we have been installing for more than 20 years for private customers and businesses in Eindhoven and the surrounding area.
A ducted unit is the best choice if the system needs to be completely invisible. Only the air outlet grilles are visible in the ceiling or wall, while the rest of the installation is hidden in the floor, wall or ceiling. That makes a ducted unit particularly suitable for new builds, major renovations, and luxury homes and offices where appearance is the top priority. One outdoor unit serves several rooms at once through the duct system, which also makes it efficient for larger buildings. See the full range of Daikin ducted units and Mitsubishi ducted units.
The capacity you need with a ducted unit depends on the total area to be cooled and the number of zones served. As a rule of thumb, allow 0.03 to 0.05 kW per cubic metre, depending on the insulation value and how the rooms are used. With a ducted unit, a thorough calculation in advance is essential because the system is hard to change after installation. Our advisers make this calculation free of charge during the survey.
A ducted unit is the only type of air conditioner that is completely invisible in the room. All other types, from wall-mounted units to cassette units, have a visible indoor unit. In addition, one ducted installation serves several rooms at once through the duct system, which makes it an efficient solution for larger homes or office buildings. The downside is that the installation is more complex and more expensive than other types and is best included in a new build or renovation project.
Installing a ducted unit is the most complex air conditioning installation there is. The duct system has to be carefully designed and fitted for optimal air distribution and minimal noise. Aircobrabant handles the complete installation: from design and survey through to commissioning. Our engineers are directly employed by us and have specific experience with ducted installations in homes and office buildings. You always get a fixed price in advance, including pipework and installation, with no surprises afterwards.
A ducted unit works best in new builds or major renovations where the structure is open. In existing buildings it is possible, but it requires more work on the structure. During the survey, our advisers assess whether a ducted unit is feasible in your situation and which alternative suits best if it is not.
That depends on the total area, the number of zones and the insulation value of the building. During the survey, our advisers make a thorough calculation, because a ducted unit is hard to change after installation. The calculation is always free of charge.
A ducted unit is more complex, and therefore more expensive, than a standard split unit installation. The price depends heavily on the building, the number of zones and the complexity of the duct system. After the survey, Aircobrabant draws up an itemised quote with a fixed price.
