Air conditioner maintenance
Why is air conditioner maintenance important?
Regular maintenance of your air conditioner is essential for optimal performance and a long service life. Here are some key reasons why maintaining an air conditioner is crucial:
- Efficiency and energy savings: A well-maintained air conditioner works more efficiently. By cleaning or replacing filters regularly and having the system checked, you make sure the air conditioner uses less energy. This leads to lower energy costs and more sustainable use of your system.
- Improved air quality: During maintenance, filters and air ducts are cleaned. This helps remove dust, allergens and other contaminants, which results in better air quality in your home or office. A clean air conditioner contributes to a healthier indoor climate.
- Preventing problems: Regular maintenance allows engineers to spot and fix potential problems early, before they cause serious damage. This can prevent expensive repairs and uncomfortable situations in the future.
- Longer service life: By maintaining your air conditioner properly, you extend the life of the unit. A well-maintained system can run trouble-free for years, which saves a considerable amount on replacement costs.
- Warranty conditions: Many manufacturers set maintenance requirements to keep the warranty valid. By having maintenance carried out regularly, you make sure you meet these conditions and that your warranty does not lapse.
Legal obligation
Since 1 January 2015 the rules for leak checks have changed. These checks are carried out during maintenance of your split air conditioner. Does your installation contain refrigerant with a CO₂ equivalent of 5 tonnes or more? Then you are required to have the installation serviced every year. Installations below 5 tonnes are not covered by this maintenance obligation.
Modern air conditioners use two types of refrigerant: R410A and R32. R32 is the newest variant and has a lower CO₂ equivalent, which makes it more environmentally friendly. We advise having installations that use older refrigerants replaced, and having the old system removed by a specialist.
CO₂ equivalent per refrigerant
Aircobrabant works exclusively with latest-generation refrigerants.
R32 mandatory check from: 7.5 kg = 5.063 ton
R410A mandatory check from: 2.3 kg = 5.011 ton
