The app cannot find my air conditioner. What now?

Check that your network is a 2.4 GHz network and that your phone is connected to that same network.

How do I know if I have a 2.4 GHz network?

Download the free WiFiman app on your phone. It shows which frequency your network uses.

Where do I find the SSID and the key (KEY)?

You receive them at installation. They are also on the inside of the air conditioner.

How do I know if my Wi-Fi signal is strong enough?

Hold your phone next to the air conditioner and look at the number of Wi-Fi bars. You need at least 2.

Do I have to allow everything in the app?

Yes. Always choose "allow" when the app asks.

Why is the app slow to respond?

The control runs via the internet. That is not always fast.

Why does the app freeze?

You are sending too many commands in a row. Send no more than 3 commands per minute.

Can other people control the air conditioner too?

With Daikin, invite them from the Onecta app. With Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, share your login details.

My separate Wi-Fi module will not go into connection mode.

Press the button on the module itself. This does not work with the remote control. The module sits at the bottom right of the front panel, by the filters (undo the screw).

Connecting still does not work. What can I do?

Do the hotspot test above. If it connects with the hotspot, the problem is in your home network.

Setting up Wi-Fi control

Aircobrabant supplies your air conditioner with Wi-Fi control. With the free app from Daikin or Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, you control the air conditioner from your phone or tablet, at home and on the go. You see all indoor units and temperatures in one overview and can easily set schedules. Below you will find the app and the manual for each brand to connect the air conditioner to your Wi-Fi.

Before you start

2.4 GHz only. The air conditioner only connects to a 2.4 GHz network, never to 5 GHz. Your phone must also be connected to that 2.4 GHz network. The free WiFiman app shows which frequency your network uses.
A stable network. Your network must be stable, with a fixed IP address. If the connection drops, you have to connect the air conditioner again manually. Boosters and repeaters often do not improve the signal.
Connect manually (SSID). You can connect automatically via WPS or manually via the network name (SSID). Always choose manual: it prevents problems.
Reconnect your phone. First remove all Wi-Fi networks from your phone and connect again, entering your password. Switching Wi-Fi off and on is not enough.
Key and password. Each indoor unit comes with an SSID and a key (KEY). Keep them in a safe place.
Follow every step. Do not skip any steps and always choose “allow” when the app asks.

Daikin: the Onecta app

Daikin uses the Onecta app. The app explains step by step how to connect the air conditioner to your network. In practice, connecting only fails when there is no 2.4 GHz network.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries: the Smart M-Air app

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries uses the Smart M-Air app. There are two manuals: one for models with built-in Wi-Fi and one for the separate Wi-Fi module. You can recognise built-in Wi-Fi by the F at the end of the model name, for example SRK 25 ZS-WF.

Do you have a separate Wi-Fi module? Put it into connection mode with the button on the module itself. This does not work with the remote control. The module sits behind the cover at the bottom right of the front panel, where the filters are (undo the screw).

Not working? Do the hotspot test

Almost all problems are caused by the Wi-Fi network. Have you followed the manual exactly and do the questions below not help? Then do the hotspot test. It shows whether the problem is the air conditioner or your network.

Use two phones with mobile internet and the latest software.
Install the app on one phone.
Turn on the mobile hotspot on the other phone.
Remove all Wi-Fi networks from the first phone and connect only to the hotspot.
Connect the air conditioner to the hotspot network.

Does it connect this way? Then the problem is in your home network. An IT engineer can solve this. Your internet provider can often switch the network to 2.4 GHz remotely as well. Please note: fully reset the Wi-Fi module after the test.
