Project
Heating an industrial unit
To heat an industrial unit in Berghem we installed two ceiling-mounted air conditioners. For this project we deliberately chose two Hyper Inverter single-split installations. This choice provides a reliable and energy-efficient way of heating, particularly suited to large industrial units.
An air conditioning installation regularly goes into defrost. During this process the outdoor unit briefly stops working to defrost, so that efficiency stays optimal. Because we have chosen two separate single-split systems here, there is little chance of both installations going into defrost at the same time. As a result, at least fifty percent of the total heating capacity is always available. This ensures a stable and comfortable indoor climate, even on cold days.
Heating with an air conditioner is in many cases up to 50 percent cheaper than heating with gas. This installation has a SCOP of 4.3. This means that every kilowatt of electrical energy delivers 4,300 watts of heat. By comparison: one cubic metre of gas normally yields about 9.7 kW of heat. With just 2 kW of electricity, this installation therefore delivers as much heat as 1 m³ of gas. Businesses can easily calculate what they save based on their current gas consumption.
An important advantage of Hyper Inverter technology is that the heating capacity is maintained at outdoor temperatures down to -10 degrees. This keeps efficiency high, even during periods of frost. In addition, a special ceiling fan (Novilator) has been installed in this industrial unit. It pushes the warm air that rises back down, which increases comfort and prevents unnecessary energy consumption. The Novilator can be set to different speeds, so the user can determine the noise level and airflow.
As well as heating efficiently, this installation also offers the option of powerful cooling in summer. This way, the industrial unit in Berghem has a comfortable and energy-efficient climate system all year round.
